Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who a jury heard has repeatedly asserted she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial accused with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and data recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test during the past two years.

"I don't want money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the recording stated.

The jury was informed that through emails, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with law enforcement who collated the information, told the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On that date, the father picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I won't give up and I will prove my point."

The court was informed the co-defendant established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she ought to be taken seriously in the time preceding the appearance to the village, the county, in that winter.

The court heard message exchanges between the two defendants, in that autumn, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from cutlery at a dining venue.
