The latest action-packed game that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for embracing chaos and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting gripping, socially charged stories. It’s no surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose creations have embodied all of those elements.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' format by having a new setting and cast of characters in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the producer.

Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always examining the nature of humanity through this complex and turbulent perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious style to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
